🏁 Little Iron Horse “Power Wheels” Derby

Give the littlest derby drivers their chance to get in on the action!

The Little Iron Horse “Power Wheels” Derby is a fun, family-friendly event for young drivers ages 3–10, presented as part of the Iron Horse Demolition Derby.

👧🧒 Driver Information

Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026
Location: Humboldt Speedway
1663 Georgia Rd, Humboldt, KS 66748

Registration Deadline: 6:00 PM on event day

Entry Fee: FREE — there is no additional Little Iron Horse entry fee.

Age Divisions:

• Junior Division: Ages 3–5

• Senior Division: Ages 6–10

All participants must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and the parent/legal guardian must complete and sign the required registration and waiver.

🎟️ Admission & Pit Access

• Children 8 and under do not need a General Admission ticket.

• Children 9 and older must have a valid General Admission ticket.

• Children under 12 may enter the pit area only during designated Little Iron Horse registration, inspection, staging, viewing, and competition times.

• A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child while in the pit area.

• The accompanying parent/legal guardian must have a paid Pit Pass.

• The parent/legal guardian who signs the registration and waiver must remain on-site while the child is participating.

🚙 Power Wheels Requirements

Participants must bring their own Power Wheels-style ride-in vehicle.

Allowed:

• Car, truck, Jeep, or similar ride-in Power Wheels-style vehicle

• 6-volt or 12-volt vehicles

• Fun derby-style paint, numbers, driver names, sponsor names, decals, and lightweight decorations

Not Allowed:

• ATVs or four-wheelers

• Motorcycles

• Tractors

• Ride-on vehicles where the child sits on top instead of inside

• Structural reinforcement

• Raised or lowered vehicles

• Tire chains, screws, studs, or other traction devices

• Unsafe or sharp modifications

All vehicles must pass inspection before competing.

🪖 Driver Safety

• Helmets are mandatory

• Bicycle helmets are permitted

• Closed-toe shoes are required

• Drivers must remain seated while their vehicle is operating

• Parents and guardians must remain outside the competition area during the heat unless directed otherwise by an official

🏆 Awards

Trophies will be awarded for:

• 🥇 1st Place

• 🥈 2nd Place

• 🥉 3rd Place

in each age division!

⚠️ Important Notes

• Drivers and parents/guardians must follow all instructions from event officials.

• Intentional contact is part of the derby, but intentional head-on collisions are not allowed.

• Unsafe or unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification.

• All vehicles must meet inspection requirements before entering the competition area.

• Officials’ decisions are final.
